The Interdenominational Ministerial Alliance of Indianapolis is a 501(c)(3). The organization acts as a forum for ministers from various churches across the city to connect and address important local issues, including participating in community forums with political candidates to discuss their platforms. Key aspects of the IMA of Indianapolis are:

The IMA has a history of working with community leaders and public institutions, such as its involvement in placing ministers as school counselors, which strengthened its role in the community.

The organization has participated in social justice initiatives, including being associated with the Operation P.U.S.H. program.

Ministers from the Alliance have used their regular meetings as a platform to hear from and discuss issues with political candidates, demonstrating their influence in local elections and political processes.

The IMA operates as a nonprofit organization.

The alliance is led by its president, who serves as a representative for the churches and ministries across Indianapolis.
Examples of IMA Activities:

For many years, the Alliance partnered with Perry Township schools to provide ministerial counselors for students.

In 2008, the IMA, along with the Baptist Ministers Alliance, held a community forum for candidates running for the 7th Congressional District seat to hear their agendas.

The IMA, along with other organizations, has supported and promoted social justice events and ministries in the Indianapolis area.
